If you've ever been told your horse is fine, but you know there's still something going on... we can help! We take a holistic multi-layered approach to making your horse feel at its best. Not only do we treat the body with massage, body work and acupuncture through a licensed and certified vetrinarian working with our barn, but we also take a vested interest in your horse's mental well being.

Horses are living, breathing creatures with minds of their own. Anything from past trauma, pain or an unfortunate accident can trigger behavioral issues with your horse. We are experienced with positive reinforcement training to help guide your horse into a better mental well being. Action orientated goals help guide you and your horse through a series of lessons that will enable not only better communication, but a better understanding of the "why" behind your horse's behavior.

Therapies We Utilize:

  • SureFoot - SURE FOOT® is an innovative program using Equine Stability Pads to help horses improve balance, confidence, and movement through self-learning and relaxation.
  • Back-On-Track - Back on Track combines modern textile technology with traditional Chinese medicine to create therapeutic products that promote comfort and mobility for people, horses, and dogs.
  • Equiband - Equicore Concepts' Equiband® Pro system is a globally recognized, research-backed equine resistance band system used for core strengthening, conditioning, and rehabilitation in horses at all performance levels.

R+ Training

Why is R+ in the Rehab section? Isn't that for training?

Yes.

But R+ training methods can help immensely in facilitating recovery from trauma and injury both physically and emotionally.

How R+ helps physical rehab:

  • Quickly teach horses to accept and be active participants with rehab equipment and manual therapies.
  • "Shaping" to teach horses to adjust their posture and movement under their own power rather than forced through equipment and pressure.

How R+ helps emotional rehab:

  • Incentivises horses to attempt movements that they previously avoided for fear and anticipation of pain or discomfort.
  • Can help build trust and a positive attitude towards work and rehab by allowing horses to better communicate their level of comfort.
  • Can help horses overcome or better cope with PTSD and anxiety, whether it be from past abuse, accidents, or injuries.
